Pulsing Xenia

I just picked up a small pulsing xenia. It is attached to a small piece of rock.
1) Does the xenia attach itself, or did the lfs attach it using a glue?
2) Can it be removed from this tiny rock and placed on a more permanent piece of LR?
3) If it cannot be removed, what happens when it tries to get bigger? The rock it is on cannot support much more growth.
Thanks

Glue the liitle peice of rock or wedge it were you want it. The xenia will move to a location it likes over time.

place it next to the rock you want it on, have the "trunk" part of the xenia touching the rock you want it on,... it will "spread" or more over to it ...

I had my xenias in the mid level of my tank and they moved up to the top for more light and flow "I guess". They did this within 3 to 4 days, and off the rock they came on.Good luck.

I would love to have some xenia, but they don't ship well and my LFS wants $100.00 for a 3 piece stalk about 2" tall! CRAZY! :scared:

That's insane. I paid $19 at my LFS for a cluster on a rock. The xenia is a little bigger then a golf ball.

I picked up a tiny struggling little frag from my lfs for something like $20 about 9 months ago. Now I have the stuff all over, on each end of the tank...probably hundreds of stalks all 3 inches high...it's taking over!! So that's the flip side of the xenia, it's almost turned into a nuisance. It won't stay off the front glass of my tank either, I have to scrape it off weekly...at one point it climbed all the way up the glass and was starting to grow out of the water.
