Pump Noise

Just bought a new Magdrive 1800 as my return pump. Its not too loud at all, just wondering if there are any tricks to lessen the vibration noise on the bottom of my glass sump?
Also, it came with a small pad I stuck to the bottom - are these ok to have in my tanks circulation?

I asked the same question on a different forum, it was suggested to place the pump on a sealed plastic bag of sand. Works great!!!!
