There is an article I read in the "Aquarium Fish International" magazine that did a study of Music affect on fish. It goes like this;
For years, it has been known that music can affect a human's emotional and physiological states. But now, scientists are finding similar connections with music and fish.
After conducting studies with the common carp, a research team fro Athens, Greece, found that music can affect a fish's health. With studies focusing on growth and phisiology, the scientists raised two groups of carp: one in a constantly dark environment and the other in a normally lit environment. Finding the fish's growth stunted by the darkness, researchers exposed these fish to music and found an interesting connection: These fish grew more normally when exposed to at least 30 minutes of classical music by Mozart.
The scientists fount that fish exposed to such music appeared to show a reduction of neurotransmitters that correspond with stressful environments. these fish also exhibited enhanced fatty acids levels in the livers. the researchers suggested that fish farming could enhance "fish welfare" through music into their operations. http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2006/1...tegory=animals
Now I don't know what music you listen to but if it's rock I don't know if that would be a negative affect but I'm sure the fish won't grow long hair.

We have a Hawaiian Trigger and other fish and feed them assorted music all the time. I have noticed in a few months that my maroon clown is 2x bigger then it was 8 months ago. Also my trigger grows like a weed but as much as I feed him it is probably normal growth.
