Puppy Pool!

OK so we have another set of foster puppies on the way. Well actually two sets, as you can see by the pictures. So here is the deal, we think the black one is going to be first so guess
1. how many puppies she will have
2. date and time she will have them. The time will be when the first one comes out.
Here is all we know about them. They came from the Bakersfield pound. Aside from that we think they are related and they are some type of Brussels Griffon. We also think the black one will be in a week, the other is not as far along.
The prize..... well it is bragging rights really. I don't have a SW tank right now so no frags and I don't think SWF would allow a pool for $.

For those interested, here is the story. Got a call yesterday asking if we could take in a couple pregnant dogs. I said yes to one, but we could not do both. We were told one was a Terrier and the other was a Brussles Griffon. Well instead of bringing the dog to our house they wanted us to go pick them up. We knew we were being played and they would push us to take both. Nope no way.
When we got there they had the brown one (Tina) in a cage in one room. She was a cutie and a sweet dog. Then they brought in the black one (Heidi) from another room. After a couiple minutes stupid me says let's take both. It was not real fun pulling some ticks off of them, my daughter and wife were not thrilled either.
When we got them home we gave them a bath. Then when they were walking around we saw they always stayed together. Turns out they must be related because they are pretty much inseperable. I am SO glad that we took both of them right now. They also were obviously house dogs at some point because they sure are interested in any food that we are holding. We also think they are fairly young. They seem young and their teeth are pretty clean.
So we have a herd of dogs again..........

Aw Scott, you are truly an animal hero! I am betting Friday at 2:30-3:00AM for the black dog with four puppies. As for the brown....On the 29th at 6am with two living pups.

Guapo, I hear you. Wednesday morning would be bad for me. Also not too keen about TQ's 4 in the morning. Even worse is Sep's 2:30 in the morning. Ru's 10 in the morning would be good. The last batch was at 5:00 in the afternoon, that was perfect!
Sep, you are too kind. It is fun and we also look at it as one way to give back to society. OK we are not exacly building homeless shelters, but it is something.
Whoever had them before, they guy treated them well because they follow me around the house. In fact both are sitting on my lap right now. WOW they are cute!

Are they here yet? Is it still too late to place my bet? I missed this thread.
I once heard a quote that has always stuck with me...."If you want to find a human being that's a good friend/mate/companion.....find a person who loves and respects animals". Or some crap like that....anyway, Scott you have more patience than I ever will bro.

T3, There is still time to make a guess. They both are just getting bigger. In fact I looked down on Heidi, the black one, and thought "Hey she looks more like a goat than a dog." In fact that is exactly what she looks like, one of those pygmy goats you see in the petting zoos.
Jenny, I sure hope they come before Halloween, I don't think they can get much bigger. As far as our favorite furnitre, well as you can see from these pics, we don't really have good furniture. As long as it is comfortable who cares what it looks like.

You do know that you can take the dog's (rectal) temperature and when it drops below 99 degrees you will usually have the puppies soon (a day or so)?? A dog's normal temperature is around 101 degrees.
I'll guess that Heidi
will deliver early Saturday morning (Oct 25th) and will have three pups. Probably around 5 AM.
Tina
will wait till Sunday evening about 11 PM before she goes into labor, will not deliver till around 4 AM on Monday (Oct 27th), and will have two puppies.
Have you ever delivered puppies before, especially a tiny dog?
Wishing you and the girls lots of luck!

Ocean, yeah we know about the temp. drop. But as my wife so eloquently put it last night, "I'm not shoving anything up their ____" I unfortunately feel the same way, so we are just waiting.
We have fostered another little dog that gave birth, and I have our helping kit all ready to go. Our only concern is when they both have their pups. We have a walk in closet where we keep the fosters, and we planned on keeping them in there. We have two boxes for them, but are not real sure how they will be in the same room when they have their pups. We are hoping they will be fine since they are inseparable right now. It is hard to think of them as two dogs, because if you have one dog, you have both of them. I guess we will just have to watch it.
Rotary, I know about the title, I just could not think of anything else. You know what is funny is that in the pictures they do look cute. In real life they have been hit with the ugly stick. They are the coolest dogs though. I kind of wish we could keep these because they just follow me around the house. I am redoing the stairs in our house and put a blanket down on the floor near the stairs so they would have a comfortable place to lay down.

My favorite part of the picture is the carpeted step stool you made them for 'easy access' to the couch!

I'm guessing Sunday 4 pups at 10pm, 12pm, 2am, and 4am.
For the black and the tan next thursday, 3 pups at 2am, 4am and 6am.
Pretty sure that is how mine would do me.
They look like terrier/shih tzu mix to me. Good luck. Wish I was close, would probly take a pup.Don't tell dh

Any idea on dad. With them being small that would be my only worry. If they start acting like they are in labor for more then 24 hrs may need to have vet check them. Some small dogs need c-sections, especially sm. acephalic dogs(big head).
Keep us posted.
