Purigen and Carbon

So I think I'm going to run purigen and carbon in my sump.

I've heard nothing negative about purigen and minimal negatives on carbon.

So why not right?

Carbon doesn't last long. Meaning its effectiveness. Chemipure is a carbon purigen mix

I run both a Chemipure Elite and the Stock Carbon bag in my HOB and it seems to work fine as long as I stay on top of the changeout schedule (ie 3-4 weeks for the stock carbon bag and 2.5-3 months on the Chemipure Bag).

Heard chemipure is a ion exchange type and a waste of time in salt water tanks
