purple alge

Hey i no the propper term for purple alge but i can't spell it so anyways
how do i get the stuff to grow?
i heard you need alot of calcium i have this stuuf made by red sea called Reef Success Calcium +3 and i have Kent Marine Ionically Balanced Magnesium Supplement . SHould i add these and will that help the growth ??

Time, Light and a good ballance of alkalinity and calcium.
You made no mention of your lighting, what kind of rock you have, or the species of coralline algae you want to grow. Some is a low light slow grower, others such as burghandy and pinks from tonga and the caribbian are high light.
we need more info. You might have a lot of competetors also.

Reef Vital DNA is another good supplement. I saw a coraline alge outbreak in about a month with my tank.

i have only the lighting that came with my take a 24" flo but i am getting new lights soon hopefully 2x55 watt PC's. I have 2 Powerheads running. SO i guess i have to get the new lights and wait. I thoughbt it just grew like regular alge.

instead of posting again and again, you can always edit your post. That way you don't have to apologize for misspellings and stuff, just go back and fix it.
