First off, how did you acclimate it? Carpets need quite a long time to acclimate and it may still be adjusting to your tank.
Try and feed it tomorrow.
Is it moving around a lot? What kind of lighting is in your tank?

It's probably just still acclimating. I'd wait until tomorrow night and then try to feed it.

their mouths are actually fairly large,, when you saw it first it may have just eaten, most that i have seen have large open mouths, no problem...Just make sure its near the sand or has some rubble to get in the middle of, they actually like to be between sand and rocks or rocky rubble.

Yeah, your clowns probably aggravated it while it was still acclimating. Mine beat the **** out of a RBTA right after acclimation.
I normally feed all my anemones as close to the mouth as possible (normally mysis or brine shrimp). If the clowns are hosting it, I'd feed it once to see how it goes and then if they feed it, I'd feed it once every other week or so. My clowns don't know how to share with the anemones yet and I'm stuck feeding them weekly.

try feeding it. It may never have hosted clowns before and it very well could be trying to eat them. Carpets have huge mouths, how big are your clowns?

about 2inch clowns....... should i try feeding it now,
Yeah I'd try feeding now. Your clowns are fairly young and it could
eat them. Carpets have big mouths, like I said, so don't risk it. Try enticing your fish away from the nem with some food and then feed the nem. Hopefully that will chill it out enough to let it get used to the clowns. One of my BTA's tried to eat my clowns when I first added it to the tank. I fed it, and now it's fine. It could just still be acclimating, but if your clowns are swimming inside it's mouth, I'd attempt to feed it before it decided to make a midnight snack out of your clowns. Fill its belly so you can have some peace of mind.

okay i put a peice of silverside in its mouth how long does it take for them to eat it.
It really depends on their mood. But it should at least keep it from trying to eat your fish. Hopefully your fish don't steal it out of its mouth. Good luck.
