Purple Firefish or Royal Gramma

I would like to get some opinions from the experts and from the people who own these two fish which they would recommend. They are both beautiful fish but I must choose one to be the last fish in my tank.
Which one should I choose?
BTW: I have a 1 yellow tang, 2 false percs, 1 lawnmower blenny and 1 coral beauty in there right now.

Royal Grammas are a great addition. Their colors are amazing and I love their quirky personality. What size tank do you have?

if you have to choose between a royal gramma or 1 firefish i'd say royal gramma, however if you can allow 2 firefish pick the firefish, they look great going around a tank together.

Just got both recently myself. The gamma is beautiful! The one we have is pretty bold. The clowns, flame hawk and LMB don't bother him at all. I didn't get the purple firefish because the should be mated if you want a pair or they'll fight. So we got two firefish (yellow head, red tail) and, like 30-xtra high said, they look great swimming around together. If you had to choose one, i'd go gamma.

I have a 55 gallon tank so I think I am reaching my limit on the bio-load. I have about 20" of fish in there now once they are full grown so I thought I could get away with adding one more small one with some color and personality.

both can be shy at first. i have both, and now they both come out all the time. royal gramma may be better with what you have.

Just curious - are you referring to Vermont with VT Rules? If so, I totally agree :cheer: . BTW, I have a new 29g and am planning on a royal gramma to go with my percs, and YWG. :)

No, VT = Virginia Tech
I'm sure Vermont is nice too but I've never been there. One of these days I will get up there to try out the slopes.

I'm with TeresaQ on this one, I have had both and feel the Gramma is best choice for the fish you already have.
