Purple furry stuff

I have been fighting this for a while. I siphon it out during water changes but can't get ahead of it. I have 8 fish in a 54 gallon tank. I feed half a frozen cube of brine, mysis and blood worms, split between two feedings a day.
Any thoughts,

Looks like cyno. How much circulation do you have and what sort of filtration system are you using? Do you have a clean up crew? I would cut out the blood worms personally.

Circ is by a Tunze on a wave device, Magnum 350 through a sterilizer, and a pair of power heads. I can turn up the Tunze for starters and lose the bloodworms, not sure anyone likes them. I haven't evaluated my cuc since I set the tank up, 29 months ago, know I have lost snails.
Thanks,

ANother good question. If the bulbs aren't that old, I would play around with your flow and cut back on feeding to see if that makes a difference.

If I read the post correctly he is feeding eight fish a cube and a half! What fish do you have and what size are they. Are you running a fuge, skimmer, phosphate reactor, how much sand/rock. Figure out another way to combat this problem other than taking the food away.
