Purple Grapes

On one of the rocks that I bought the other day it is covered with these little "purple grapes". What are they?? Also I noticed after I added my source of ammonia to start the cycle, little plant like things are growing out of the "grapes". They are about 1 cm long at the longest now and are bright green at the tips and a reddish color more near the "trunk". Thanks.

here they are. Water is a little cloudy because I was movin the sand around trying to clean the sides. Also I noticed they kinda went in when I looked this morning. I am assuming they come out because of the light. You can't see the growth coming out in this pic.

Definitely not bubble algae. I agree with squishy, probably some type of polyps that are closed.

oh wow...Mine didn't open that much. I just have an ordinary flourescent bulb though. I am assuming I will never see that unless I upgrade. It has neon green tips right???

not necessarily. mine open up nicely under no's. 55g 2 2 tube utility lights. I do have some similiar to what you pictured here next to my sun and the bumps have never opened. but then my green stars are near the top the bumps are on the bottom.
