Anyone had a purple lobster? It says their temperament is bold. What does that mean? I currently have a firefish and coral beauty, crabs, cleaner shrimp, peppermint shrimp, cc starfish in a 29g. I want to order 2 perc clownfish and a lobster. Not sure what else to make the $79 min. :help:

I have heard that purple lobsters hide a whole lot, which means you probably wont see him much, if at all. Most people suggest that they aren't worth they money because of this. Also, he might go after smaller fish. HTH

I had one for a short while that I caught in Hawaii. He use to climb to the top of the rocks ahd jump down on the sleeping fish at night and eat them. I wanted to eat him, but my wife said no, so he went back to the sea.

i have one.. had it for a little over half year now.. it hasn't eaten any fish.. but also because the other fish are bigger or faster.. it's true that it hides most of the time, during the day at least.. you may want to get some moonlights if you want to see it at night. mine's is about 2.5-3 inches long. i don't have it in my main tank. it's in my smaller tank with a scarlet cleaner and saron shrimp. it doesn't come to the entrance of it's cave when i feed it... sometimes at least.. other times it waits for me to leave... beautitful creature, but yes, too bad it doesn't come out more.. don't forget, it likes to hunt at night... fish wise, there's a sergeant major damsel and a black and black and yellow stripe damsel (less than an inch long).. so far, it hasn't attacked the yellow stripe.. it's described as reef safe with caution... and caution should be taken when housing with inverts and small fish...
