Purple Lobster

I have been unable to find much info on these guys. Mine has hid every day all day of the 2 weeks I've had him. Is this normal? I'm assuming he comes out at night when all is dark. Should I be doing something special to feed him or does he just feed off of leftovers?

This is normal they do hide all the time i had one and my brother bought me a fish and put it in the tank but he did not tell me he did till i came home and well he bought me a humma humma trigger and well the trigger made a meal of my purple reef lobster as for feeding he will eat when you feed your fish you may not see him but he dose eat hope i answerd your question.

I have a Purple Lobster also...and yes he does hide all the time, but sometimes i'll catch him out when the lights are out and the room is dark...he then runs back into a whole in one of my rocks...
But I do see him grabbing stuff while the others eat also. I was also told to just put a piece of food cube in for him to get while the others eat.

Cool deal- I have him in my tank at work so most of the time I can't just sit and watch so hopefully he is dashing out for food when I'm not looking. He molted the other day and scared me to death!
