Purple tang behavior

I just bought a Purple Tang for my tank and I was wondering if he was acting normal.His health and color seem to be perfect he is just acting a little wierd.
Is it normal for them to make laps around and around the tank non stop 24 hrs a day?He has been doing this since I put him in the tank,its like he's in a marathon!Just wondering if this is normal behavior?He is eating really well.

it is a very happy fish!!! all tangs have the personality of a hiper "laborador retriever"dog, my yellow tang does the same thing.

cool I was just wanting to make sure the little guy was doing ok.
