Purple Tang

I currently have a 100 g fish only tank with a purple tang, naso tang, 3 damsels. Everytime that I try to add a new fish, for example most recently a butterfly, the purple tang goes after it. I have tried everything including keeping the lights off for a period while adding the fish. Any suggestions of what I can do or expect in the future.

You could also try and move the rock around a little before you reintroduce the tang back this will also throw him off a little.

i agree with moving the rocks. he knows his territory so shake it up abit. i just added a HUGE huma huma to my tank. niger trigger,valentine puffer,3 false purcula,clarki clown,lawnmower blenny and two starfish. i thought it was a match made in hell...who knew after a few hours he settled down in the rocks and they all are getting along great in this odd ball utopian society. <img src="graemlins//urrr.gif" border="0" alt="[urrr]" />
