Fish are not puppies, you don't rescue them. If a fish is sick, not eating, or over stressed...do not purchase that fish. The fish I hope is in a quarantine tank, just in case it isn't eating because it's sick.
I would provide a dim lit tank, supply a good hiding spot so it feels safe, and a Nori sheet to nibble on. Try to not get up too close to the tank and freak it out...The goal is to let it's world settle down and be peaceful.
A new fish goes through so much. It is caught, then put in a plastic bag, and shipped in the dark box to a strange place and then put in a cramped space. Then people come in and tap the tank, or get up close for a better look. It must seem to them like people are giant monsters staring at them...then a fish net crabs them up again, and they are again put in a little plastic bag and the frightening move happens all over again..I wouldn't want to eat either.
I just noticed the post number...Welcome to the site, I hope your new critter makes it...fingers crossed for you.

Lol r u sure u like marine fish keeping?? This poor person bought a fish and is trying to help it out. All they did is ask for sum help. The nori sheet and dim lighting is good advice.

I see lots of beginners trying to save fish, they are expensive, and one sick fish can kill off everything else in the tank...few beginners also bother with quarantine tanks, like the freshwater days of $2.00 fish, they put it right into the tank after acclimating them for 20 minutes... So yes, I do get on to them for trying to rescue them...in fish keeping it's just a very bad idea.
If the fish doesn't eat at the fish store, don't take it home. Purchase only the healthiest, strongest fish you can find. If a fish store can still make their money whether the fish are healthy or not, they will never care one way or the other. If people refuse to purchase the sick fish, the store will eventually get it... that if they want to make money...take better care of the critters they want to sell.

Completely agree with you on this Flower. And I did not think you were being mean one bit. Just trying to help out.

Stick w the sea weed. If you have live rock in the tank that would help to. Alot to nibble on it.
