just curious...going to start a 20 gal sump for my 29 gal reef...i have a 100 watt heater... can i put that in the sump? is it enough or do i need a 200 watt?
Just for kicks I would use two 150's. That way if one stops working for some reason, you still have the second as a backup. The sump is a great place for heaters, skimmers, etc. so you don't have to put them in the display space.
Make sure the heater(s) stay submerged!! Evaporation does cause the water level to drop in a sump.
