What has been your experience with this? How did you determine if it was working out?
I have a fish that is labeled by stocking sites as aggressive, but really he's only territorial, not predatory. Or at least that is what I've seen from him personally so far.
Then I have another labeled as semi aggressive, but I actually find him to be a little more aggressive than the one mentioned above. He is significantly smaller than the one mentioned above though so he can't pick a fight and not get his butt kicked.
Currently they are in the tank together with lots of monitoring. The little one has some hiding spaces the big one isn't capable of reaching.
I'm wondering how long should I give it before I decide whether they will grow to tolerate each other or will continue to fight when in open swimming space.
No blood has been shed, not even a fin nipped, so it doesn't seem to be that they intend to kill or be killed, just bickering so far.
