putting rock in my new tank setup

Hello I've got two piece's of rock that i want to put in my new tank, I'm not sure if it's cured or uncured all I know is that their two pieces of rock I bought from this Guy, their not in water or anything yes their dry, so my Question is is it okay for me to put them in my tank ? I havent started cycling as of yet I plan to start next week, and I want my tank to be safe and healthy, I also plan to purchase some live sand off craigslist and I'm concerned about what I don't know about the people I'm buying it from so should I treat the water in the tank during cycling with anything to ensure that there wont be any disease in the tank after cycling or when I add fish, and is there any other types of stuff I need to add to make my tank a healthy enviroment for the fish I plan to add in my tank ?
PS I havent started cycling and there isnt any fish in the tank yet.
I welcome all advise.

If the rock is dry, then it is not "live", so cured or uncured are not applicable terms. As long as it is from a marine source (not terrestrial rock), it should be fine, rinse it off and drop it in.
I would be hesitant to buy sand out of another person's tank unless you truly know the tank very well. There could be a host of pests in that sand: flatworms, etc. It would be better, in my opinion, to buy dry aragonite sand and start your cycle with a raw shrimp as described in the sticky threads at the top of the New Hobbyist forum.
Just noticed where this thread is. You should ask a mod to move this over to the New Hobbyist forum.
"Ask Saltwaterfish.com" forum is for questions about this site and/or store.

Oh Ok, and if I may ask how do I do that ? meaning move this to another fourm ? and thank you for the advise because I dont want to do something that would make for a unhealthy tank, but i want to ask, I have store bought sand already so I can just add that and will the Damsels contribute to it becoming live ? why I ask is because I plan on for the fish in my tank to be a Dwarf Fuzzy Lionfish, a Flame angelfish and the surviving Damsels so would it be a good Ideal to put a crab in knowing it might be dinner for the Lionfish once he is added to the tank or is there other ways to make the sand live ?

YOU don't move the thread. That's why I suggested you ask a mod to do it.
You are using Damsels to start you cycle? Most folks regard that practice as cruel.
Your other questions regarding Lionfish are over my head, others will need to answer those.

I'm asking how do I get the Mod to move my thread ?
and I feel that using Damsels are cruel also but the guy's at the LFS said thats the best way to cycle unless you know a better way please do tell.
and I've chated with Saxman on this site about Lionfish and I've also done research on the type of fish to put in the tank with Lionfish so I pretty much have no questions concerning that I just heard crabs would be unsafe in a tank with a Lionfish, but I want to establish live sand without having to pay the outrages prices LFS have so if there was another way I can do it I'm open for suggestions thats all.

I read that article and now have a whole new outlook and better understanding and using Damsels won't be a way I'm going to go, thank you so much you've been a great help.
