I just came from the hardware store to get some odds and ends to finish plumbing my tank. To connect the PVC, I got "All Purpose Cement: by a company called "Oatey". Does anyone knnow this product off hand and if it is save for marine aquariums? If this isnt safe, what is?
Thanks again guys.

Does it say it is used for PVC? I don't know about the all-purpose stuff but you should get PVC cement and purple primer (Oatly). I use Red hot and blue glue b/c it doesn't need primer. I've never had a problem with it. Any glue you use should be OK for your tank once it has set-up and dried. I try and wait several hours before running my tank water through it just to be on the safe side.....

Not really sure bud! It may not have the solvents to bond PVC! Like I said the only PVC that I have used needs purple primer. Unless it's the red hot and blue glue. I really can't say that I would risk it! the problem is it may bond it but for how long is the question. It could make a real mess.......
Maybe someone else will know.........
Sorry

If it's in a gold paper wrapped can, then it should be ok, if it's by Oatey.
The best way to check is to read the label. It'll say somewhere about it being ok to be used with potable water.
Then, you're 100% good.

If it doesn't say PVC on the container I wouldn't use it.....glue for ABS and cpvc are different....
