[Q] Which VHO should I get?

Hi I am ready to replace 2 of my 36" VHO bulbs (actually, I think they might
be NO... got the twin tube from LFS), can you guys recommand any good
brands? I remmeber URI was recommanded quite a lot; but I really like the
deep blue/purple color of the CoralLife, is that brand any good? I am
currently using 2 Marine Glows.

I have always liked the URI bulbs the best. As far as coralife bulbs go I know they offer the trichromatic, actinic, and 10,000k daylight lamp in vho.

Everything I've seen first hand inclines me to stick with uri.......I use 2x110 watt actinic blue with my pc lights and the color is fine for me.........had a lil of a problem with the first coral life bulbs I used....lighting color was off and I had my first algae problem.......don't know if this helps...but I would personally stay with uri

I am almost positive that those bulbs are NO(normal output).
If you paid less than $150.00 at a LFS for, the hood is not VHO.

Thanks guys, I think I'll go with the URI. Will it be okay to put in VHO tubes if my hood is acutally NO? And can you recommand and nice and cheap place to get them? need 2 36"... thanks!

you can get it at championlighting.

if you have NO lighting you should use regular NO lamps. Although VHO lights may light up, they do not operate at the right level. URI makes lamps in both the VHO and NO. If you have any questions about their bulbs, you can give them a call and actually talk to someone(a real person ).

Gotcha! Thanks! The cheapest I can find is at Premium for 17.50 a tube, and $15 shipping... any idea where I might find a even better deal?

i have 2 coralife's on my 125 aggressive and i like them it is a 2ft high tank tho lol, good bulbs
