Yes, if you take out the rock, inverts, and coral (if any), you can do hyposalinity in that tank. Just make sure you always have water made up for a water change in case bacteria/organisms die from the live sand.

i have 3 small mushroom corals if i take them out how much light do you think they'll need in a ten gallon? also then organisms in the sand will most likely die but i will still be able to use it in my main tank correct? thanks lion crazz i see u have been answering ich questions non stop

The 3 small mushrooms only need minimal light. If you are really worried about them, just get a cheap Odyssea power compact light $20.
It is not most likely that everything will die in the live sand, but you may lose a lot. This will cause an ammonia spike. When the ammonia spike occurs, you will have to do a water change to get rid of the ammonia. Hypo will not hurt the sand in any way. It will still be perfectly fine to use once all of the ich is gone.

thanks...... if you don't mind (lion crazz) let me tell you what i am doing as of right now.......well i set up a 10 g tank with a cheap HOB filter and a heater i filled it with my display tank water and let it run for a day.....now i am filling it with most of my LR and hermits...will this be to much of a bio load for that filter also do you think my snails would be ok to add in their? i am adding some pvc pipe to the main tank to help the fish adjust.....o and i am putting about 20lbs of LR in a rubbermaid bin with airstones...will i need filtration and heater for this if it is only LR? and i will begin hypo as soon as i get a refractometer? sound good?
