How do you keep your QT tank cycled in between one QT period and the next?
Do you leave a fish in it that will never end up in your display tank?
Thanks

Personally, I would not house a fish in a QT. I don't think it is right to be continueously exposing fish to meds and treatments. Additionally, ideally, except with schooling fish, or mated pairs, QT's should only house 1 fish at a time.
You can keep the tank cycled by feeding the tank with fish food. I don't bother doing this myself, as I don't usually make impulse acquisitions. Before I plan to get a fish, I'll spend some time "reconditioning" the QT.

Beth,
Great thread!
You said that you spend time "reconditioning" your QT. How do you do this?
I'll be posting my QT when I get home.

When the time comes, I will do some water changes using water from my main tank, add a bit of live sand, also from my tank, and keep my eclipse media in my main tank for about a wk before switching it over to the QT. Then, just feed the QT a bit of fish food, check water readings and when every thing is reading good, we'll be good to go! :D
Yes, I like seeing everyones' QT. Wouldn't it be nice if the other mods who QT would post up a pic. I know Trojan has a camera and QT's, so how about it Tro?
Wouldn't everyone like to see Terry's QT??? :D
