QT Question

What would be ok to KEEP in my QT? Right now theres some LR a turbo, and a Camel Shrimp that came attached to a piece of LR i bought, and some cheato.... Just to try and start growing for my fuge ;) Can i keep a damsel or something else small in there?

a qt should hv anything in them except heater and filter to move the water. in case a new specimen in the qt has a disease, u can quickly add medication or hypo. but if u hv other critters in there, it cant do any of the above. and therefore defeats the purpose of having a qt in the 1st place.

the liverock will also absorb any meds that you use. most people use pvc piple or similar.

so just go bare bottom w/ a light and filter, no rock...
Maybe I'll set it up as a nano then ;)
I just find it hard to keep a tank running w/ absolutely NOTHING in it...

Exactly. Add some pvc pipe joints for cover (as you can throw away in case of disease).

do i have to keep it runing 24/7 or can i just grab 10g from my DT when i buy new lifstock/in case of sickeness

Ideally you keep it running, and add a bit of fish food to it occasionally to feed the bacteria in the tank.
Filling a new tank with tank water doesn't cycle a tank.
