QT Tank Levels... Yay or Nay?

Yeah, I'm kind of worried about vodka dosing. So I guess I'll keep away. It doesn't seem like my levels are bad, but that could just be the algae playing with the readings.
Anyway, back to the maint topic of this thread my QT.
I'm debating whether or not I should place an order on this site as my LFS seems to not have any hippo tangs in stock. If I place an order here, I'm going to purchase a yellow tang at the same time since I can use it with my reef reward points. Can I place them both in the same QT at the same time; or would that be an extremely bad idea?

What size is the tank and what size fish are you looking to purchase. I have quarantined multiple fish at once. It's definitely trickier in smaller tanks, but it is manageable.

60 gallon. It's a hexagon though, so it has a diameter of about 2' and is about 2 1/2 maybe 3' tall.
Both fish will be in the small category. I'm debating getting a third first off this site as well. If I'm going to pay for shipping then I'm thinking I'm going to use all my reef points in one bang.

If you can get two that are fairly small (3-4" max) I think it would be okay. Definitely provide good water quality by having extra RO on hand in case anything happens (ammonia spike, etc). I wouldn't do more than two, possibly a small third fish, but definitely not three tangs.

Well, I was thinking the tangs that I get would be 1-3"... that's what they say on their site. So I'm assuming they'll be some of the smaller ones.
I'm still trying to figure out what other fish I can get... either another normal size fish, or a small school to finish off my tank.

You can also try giving them a call and try to request the tangs be a certain size if they have it available.

Santamonica says that it won't properly filter if its not the right size. So I'm not sure if it's even worth it. Seems to me it would be better than nothing, but that doesnt seem to be his take on it for some reason.
The reason is, without enough size it can't get nutrients low enough to grow green. So it always stays brown. It's already small, and growing brown is not very powerful. It still filters, but not near as much as light green hair.

I've reached a bit of a crisis mode. I ended up not getting my tang because I will be moving shortly and I don't want to add anything else to my tank. My crisis...
My DT has Ich. I know everyone warned me about adding fish without QTing, and now I'm paying. My black and white clown has ich all over the back... came out of no where. I'm going to remove EVERYONE and place them in my DT. However, I need to know, how can I do this? Do I place them in a box with some water and acclimate them to the new tank? Also, I have snails in this tank... do they have to come out as well? What is EVERYTHING I need to remove? And how do I need to remove it?

Ok, so a quick update. I was able to catch only the two clowns, and still have to catch the five cardinals, and the blenny. I placed the clowns in my acclimation bucket and let them sit in there for about an hour getting used to the new salinity and temp of the new tank and tossed them in. They seemed rather disturbed by the move, but as time has gone on they have been exploring a bit more and more. They've limited their movement to one PVC pipe, and have been sitting near the bottom of the tank, but as of recent they're starting to move up and down the tank. As I said before, I'm going to be adding the cardinals tomorrow morning, when they come back out... I might try and catch the blenny tonight while he's sleeping, but have a feeling it'll be rather difficult. Once I get all of them in I'll start the hypo process and will keep everyone up to date. Also, as I mentioned before, my current salinity is sitting at 1.20-1.21, which is a pretty big difference from the 1.29-1.30 I have in my DT.
Since the blenny eats algae, does that mean I have to get algae sheets for him now?
Again, should I be removing my snails, crabs, and shrimp from my DT too in order to remove the Ich? Or is that not necessary?

Just remove the fish. You can offer algae sheets, since the clowns will nibble at it too. I would feed emerald entree as well. My LMB eats anything I put in my tank.
