QT tank question

I had a 40 gallon tank set up as a QT, but it was way too big considering nothing in it. It is just sitting right now not running. I'm going to dismantle it this weekend and set up a 10 gallon. Much easier to keep up with the top offs! I was thinking of using this tank to use for copepods and macroalgae after the new fish finish with QT. Do others out there do this. I dont want to build a refuge on my tank. Too much work, my tank is a weird design. I want to raise copepods for a possible dragonet in the future, and macroalgae to feed to fish. Will fish usually eat this stuff?

That's not really an avitar but an actual picture of how I look when I wake up every weekday morning. I didn't mean to offend and I am glad that you can find the humor. Hell my wife would be fileting me right now if I talked to her that way.
Have A Great Weekend,

Sure you can use it for the macroalgae/copepod breeding ground but eventually if you do go with a mandarin or scooter blenny you will need to transfer the 'food' over somehow.

Can they be scooped out somehow? And if macroalgae is transferred over by hand, will there not be copepods inside that? Thanks for the reply. Also, do people feed the macroalgae to their fish?
