I'm currently QTing a Porc. Puffer and a buddy of mine is getting rid of a Niger. I want to QT him also, but I only have a 20 gallon QT. Is this going to be too small for the two? I don't feel like having WW3 in my QT.
Depends on how big the fish are. If they're small, it could work. You can put a divider in the tank to separate them if necessary. If they are larger fish, I'd only do one at a time. Maybe your friend could hold on to the trigger while the puff is in quarantine.
I have had a Niger trigger
and he was generally a
good fish to have.
But a 20 gallon is to small
for sure.
But it would be a gamble.
If you take good care
and give him no reason to
lose health he should be
fine for this period of time.
Just put him in with the Puffer. The Niger is smaller than I thought and it actually looks like they are getting along pretty good. They are both chill. The 20 is only a QT until I'm confident in my new 55, which I'm hoping will be no longer than a week or two. Given their sizes, the 55 should work for close to a year.

Is the 55 not even set up yet or is it very new?
Those are two messy fish to add to your new 55. Add one, then wait a few weeks before you add the other to give the biological filtration time to cope with the bioload. Be sure to have water on hand to dilute any spikes.
