QT with Copper

I am still in the process of curing live rock and setting up my display tank after some failed early attempts to add fish. (I know, patience...)
I've bought a QT and am in the process of letting it cycle, I'd like to use this with a copper solution to ensure all new fish are parasite free. Do I merely keep track of the usual NH4/NH3/Ph/Kh parameters and ensure the copper is at therapeutic levels or should I use filtration and cycle the tank without copper and add as needed?

I use a product called coppersafe to treat ich or other paresites.this product is a once a month water treatment for curing and prevention of paresites .this product can also be used with carbon filters it does not remove the medication. its sold in just about any place that sell fish supplies also used for fw fish and very inexpencive to purchase. i also recomend using a 15 to 20 gal as a quarentine for new arrivals I have found in the past a 10 gal is extremey hard to keep good water quality and is more stressful on new arrivals.another very good product to keep on hand for new arrivals is melafix it is reef safe will not harm fish corals or inverts when adding new fish to the main tank I dose for 3 days to reduse stress and pervent stress induced illnesses(natural intibiotic)

Do you melaflix in the QT tank or the display tank? Does it stay in the tank after dosing or does the filter catch it?

where ever i add the fish be it qt or main remove carbons when dosing the tank the carbons will remove it from your tank.after dosing for 3 days i add the carbons back on.if your running copper in the qt be sure to melafix the main when adding the new fish to it to help with adding slime coats the copper has helped remove
