Quarantine Copper Question

What theraputic level of copper
should be in my quarantine tank
when I'm treating fish for disease.
I'm using aquatronics (same company as greenex)
copper sulfate and formaldahyide medication
I was wondering if the copper level should
be at 0.25 or 0.50 to produce cures for the
fish.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
A 10% copper sulfate solution can be added at rate of 1 drop per gallon. This will yield an approximate Cu concentration of 0.02-0.03 ppm. Keep Cu at this concentration for at least 2-3 weeks after disappearance of all symptoms.
Side note: you've probably heard about hyposalinity, but if not, I suggest you consider it before copper as a similar QT method to treat parasitic infections like ich. This is talked about a lot in the disease forum, so if you do a search there, you'll find more than enough material to help (or you could look at Mr. Tang's writeup in the archives).
EDIT: I would be wary of aquatronics. Their product "greenex", which states it works for ich, should be taken off the shelf because it doesn't work most of the time. So just to be safe, I would check to see if the copper solution you have is purely copper sulfate (the good stuff is purely copper sulfate).
