My dt is a 125 reef set up now for 10 months with a yellow tang , pecula ,mandarin gobie and a scooter blenny. What size tank would be a minimum for a quarantine( all of them)?? I believe my pecula has something, not sure if it is ich or what. It has been acting weird for 2 to 3 weeks .It was very shy now up in front all the time. swimming irratic..seems to be looking for something. My camera is junky so I will descibe the best I can. On its side fins on the outer clear edge both sides have clowdy splotches, not really spots. One morning it was sleeping next to the clownfish vegie clip(yes I was really awake). ??? All fish were quarantined in a 30 (at dif times) when I got them. I have had them all for 7 months or more, but unfortunitely I dont have any other tanks now. No other fish show any signs of any problems yet. The water tested well , with the phosphates high(.05 ppm)being the only test out of recommendation. Do any other "fish diseases" hurt corals? I understand ick does not. Would a uv sterilizer be better/effective on a qt . I would really appreciate any advise or experiences anyone will share ..I

On tank size... you could go as small as a 15 (crowded but doable) as long as you have the proper bacteria bed for filtration SOMEWHERE in some sort of system be it hang on the back, bio balls, (even live rock tho- the rock may become dead depending on what meds you use, hypo, etc.)...
LARGER IS BETTER... so just be prepared to do many water changes the smaller the tank size you go with...
Also, you don't have to even get an actual tank although they are the best for observation purposes... you could just get a clear plastic rubbermaid container... say 17 gal... or larger...
Q does not need to be expensive or overblown... or overly difficult...
Bottom line is to have the basics down and keep the parameters/water quality as close to a pristine display tank as possible...
Good Luck! And Bravo to you for doing it the right way...
