Quarantine tank for small tangs

I know some tangs, like f.ex. hippo tangs, need alot of swimming space even when they are small. I am hoping to set up a big saltwater tank soon, and I'm wondering if I need a quarantine tank bigger than 10 gallons for my new tang? I understand that as he/she grows bigger, a 10 gallon QT might not be big enough, but is it big enough to quarantine a small tang (<2 inches) for 4-6 weeks before transfering him/her to the display tank?

Yes, not a problem. Provide plenty of hiding places, nutritional food, and good water quality and he will be fine for that short amount of time in a small tank.

Minimal 3 weeks, preferably 4 weeks if you see no signs of disease/infection.

Good rule of thumb for quarantine tank size is 5" of tank width per inch of fish and up to 9" of tank per inch of more active fish like tangs and angels.
