quarantinie anemone questions

ok, so many of you probably read my other threads on how my wife bought a black clown, rose bubble tipped anemone and a coco worm at a sale the other day and I knew nothing about it until I come home and they are all in my QT with my sixline that was in for 2 wekks allready.
Anyways, I'm fairly certain I saw a parasite on the clown 2 days ago allthough its not showing now so I'm into making a seperate QT for the fish and leaving the anemone and the coco worm to fallow in the original QT that they are all in now.
I've set up the new QT and I've got a piece of fiber filter sitting in mmy sump right now collecting bacteria.
The problem I'm having is my anemone is looking really bad today. I turned on the ligths and its mouth was open so wide you could see right through it. It hasnt attached to anythiny and has been in for 5 days now.
Naturally the addition of so many things to my mini biosystem overloaded it and I tested my ammonia and it was at .5 I did a 10 percent water change and am planning on another 10 percent here in a little while.
I guess my question is should I put the coco worm and the anemone in the new QT that is half tank water and half aged fresh saltwater? or should I leave them in there and move the clown and the sixline?
I don't know if I'll be able to save the anemone either way, but I'd like to give it the best chance.
I also have a bottle of stability if you think I should add this to the new QT tank.
Thanks.

why QT a nem or coco worm? i dont believe they can carry ick or any other parasites. could be wrong but i have never QT'd a nem, coral, or invert.

Well, you have to assume that its possible that the very moment you took them out of the LFS tank that they could have had a cyst dropped on them from a fish adn its sticking to them while you are bringing it home.
If you were to just put it in the tank you are bringing in the parasite just like you would a fish.

I have never heard of anemones having parasites. The anemones nemocycsists with kill them.
A fresh water dip and good shake should be enough for corals. I would reserve quarantine for fish only.

I agree… but now there is a problem, the anemone was in quarantine tank water with the parasite and Jstdv8 can’t take a chance on exposing the main tank.
I agree that a separate QT is needed now. You can’t treat your fish for ich with medicine or hypo with the invert in the tank, and he can’t put any exposed water into the DT for 6 to 8 weeks.

Anemones really do not need to be quarantined, and doing so stresses them out unnecessarily, especially if they're thrown into a tank that has had medication in it. As Lmecher stated, the nemocycsists will kill parasites.
Anemones need perfect water quality and prefer established tanks, something that QT's don't really offer. When you overloaded the biosystem of the tank, you stressed the anemone out even more. I never QT's anemones and have quite a few, they just can't handle the extra stress. RBTA's are even worse with handling stress than some other types as well.
Good luck with it.

You are absolutely right, I am going on the situation the OP said happened…
His wife bought a fish and an anemone at the same time and put both into the QT, which wasn’t necessary to do with the anemone, BUT …the fish turned out to be sick with ich. Now he has an anemone in parasite infected water.
OPs main tank is fine and ich free since he used a QT for the new critters. Now he can’t put the anemone in the main tank because it is sitting in parasite infected water, he can’t dose the anemone with ich meds and it doesn’t need it.
So I advised he should put the anemone in another QT…so he could treat the sick fish for ich and not pollute the main tank with the parasite..Was that wrong advice under the circumstances?
Is there some way for him to clear the anemones water so it does not infect the main tank?

it was pretty much a cluster *^%*. having one fish in my qt was great but she added the other one and the nem and the worm and my ammonia spiked and killed the nem. I got the clown and the sixline in a seperate Qt that ive started treating with copper, both look really good, so im optimistic they will be just fine.
the coco worm is still in the original tank while it fallows. I did a bunch of small water changes to get the ammonia down so, other than the wires i have stretching all over hell and back accross my fish room and a dead RBTA, everything is coming around. i was having a pretty bad couple days there for a bit. that nem is the first thing ive killed in my tank (other than a purple digitata that a snail mowed over and i never found again.) pretty bummed about it. Was supposed to be my fathers day present from my son. hard to get mad at the wife for buying me a gift even though I wish she had consulted me about it of got me a gift card.
I hate gift cards, so impersonal, but in this case it would have been the way to go.
