Queen angel transformation log

If you guys remember, a few months ago I posted a thread about this tiny Queen Angel I got from the LFS. She was really sick, not eating and very thin. They even told me not to buy her but after I insisted, they agreed to sell her to me.
Well, this has become the fastest growing fish I have, eats everything I put in the tank. She's grown a good inch in just a few months. Really friendly fish too... every time I go near the tank, she comes to the glass and follows me around. Here's a log I'm keeping of how she's transforming from juvi to adult.

that is pretty awsome whenever i go to random fish stores and i see unhealthy fish i always feel bad and want to get him to get it healthy again idk why it is just my personallity. but it takes serious guts to get a fish that is very sick but congrats and if you dont mind me asking why did you feel the need to get that queen angel when you can get a healthy one thanks

I don't know, I just felt sorry for her. She was so cute but sad at the same time. I'm sure she would have died if I left her at the LFS. They just don't have the time to take care of each fish and she needed some special attention and feeding. I'd say out of all the fish I have, I'm most proud of her how much she's grown. Even though sometimes she likes to annoy my other favorite fish, the foxface.

She's one of the fastest growing fish I have, her and the naso tang. But I guess that makes sense since both will grow to be pretty large. Once she changes her colors some more, I'll take another picture. Right now it's just the streamers that are getting longer.

I feed her twice a day, either the frozen angel/butterfly formula, emerald entree or mysis. Then she eats lots of algae I put for the tangs, plus the meatier stuff I feed the triggers. I'd say she eats as much algae as the two tangs I have. She also munches on this sponge I have growing on my LR. Oh yeah, I also put in some vitamins in her food (selcon) and sometimes a little garlic.
Good luck with yours. They're actually pretty hardy fish once you get them eating.

great job with your queen angel.. I picked one up in March about 3 and shes now about 4-41/2' ... she share my 220g with a 7' emperor. they get along great right now but we'll see what happens when she gets bigger.

From what I heard, Queens and Emperor Angels get along ok. I don't think you'll have any problems. The tank is big enough for both fish. Mine gets along great with all the fish. Probably the only conflict I see is with the Powder Blue Tang. It's rare but they do get into little chases. Usually starts with the Powder Blue, then she retaliates. But no contact, just little chases around the rocks.

Its funny because the only fish my emperor has issues with is with blonde naso. i guess thats hes only competition for his food so he constantly lets the naso know whos the boss of the tank

Some new pics... last one taken today. She's grown a lot and FAST. She's also gotten a little moody and pushy with the other fish.

Mine was very pushy and routenly changed and harassed all tankmates including big wrasses. Look for the pushiness to continue to worsen.
