QUESION ABOUT LIGHTS

CORAL LIFE 50/50 BULB WILL IT WORK WITH STANDARD 15 WATT BALLAST, OR IS THIS A 40 WATT BULB? TRYING TO INCREASE LIGHT WITHOUT EMPTYING WALLET COMPLETELY. FISH ONLY TANK <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" />

What is the wattage of the 50/50? If it is more then 15watts it will not work. What is your ballast rated at.

A 15 watt ballast is for a 15 watt bulb and the best way to increase the lighting is by using a ballast rated for more wattage.

i suppose the ballast in my hood is for 15 watts . i will have to check and see what the wattage of the 50/50 is. thanks for replying . would 50/50 be good for fish only i've heard the dalight bulbs tend to make the tank look dirty? yellow light not white.

Ok here is something kinda up my alley. I have one question though. Can you use a smaller light in a bigger ballast?? like a 50 watt light in a 100 watt ballast???
