I wouldn't be concerned. I have never seen an overpopulation of pods hurt a tank.
Remember, pods are just small inverts. They don't remove nitrates. They actually are just like any fish... they create nitrates. If you have no trates and don't use a fuge you are doing well. I have never been able to get zero nitrate without one. You must be a good feeder (you don't overfeed) and do good cleaning practices. Sounds like you have found what works for you.
