question about a uv sterlizer

I was wondering if i place a black light over my sump will it act as a uv sterlizer? If not are there cheaper way of making a uv sterlizer?

No, it will act as a hair algae grower. UV's are more expensive to make than buy.

Lol, so true, black light is on the wrong end of the spectrum, most black light is red, with a touch of UV thrown in, to give the effect. If it would act as a UV strilizer, partiers are all cancer victims!
