Question about an Emperor Angel?

My tank has been up for about six months and everything looks good (PH 8.0, Trite 0, Trate 5, and Ammo 0). I currently have 2 Tank raised Perculas, a cleaner shrimp, several crabs and a 5 inch Naso Tang. I am going to be getting a new tank around January (at least a 125 gal) and I wanted to get a Juv Emperor.
Do you guys see any problems with getting the Angel now so that I will know he is healthy when I add it to my big tank?
I wanted to get one about 3 inches or so. My Naso is not aggressive at all. I will be putting the Angel in a QT tank for 2 weeks and then add him to my 52 gal.
Keep in mind that I will only have him in the 52 gal tank for around 8 months so my bigger tank can cycle.
See any major problems with my plan?
Thanks

Ok, I just got back from my LFS and they have one that they have had for about a week and it looks real good. It is about 3 inches long and it seemed in good health, it was chasing the potters angel in the tank next to it. They are going to hold it for me tonight and I need to go and get it in the morning. The bonus is that they are having a sale 20% off of all fish. Please reply so I dont make a mistake...

Reg price for a Juv is $48.00 so I figured paying about $38.00 was good. An adult runs about $135.00. How about where you are from?
Thanks for the reply. I was planning on letting the new tank take as long as needed to be good for my fish. I didnt think the angel would grow that rapidly...

I would tend to agree with the other posts here. You really should wait till the new tank is up and fully cycled before you buy this fish. They are VERY VERY sensitive to water conditions, and overcrouding in a small tank would surly harm or kill this beutifull fish.I learned that lesson the hard way myself. The one I now have is my second one.The first one I tried the same thing you are thinking about.I had a 40 gallon up and running, with a 125 in the cycle. The emperor lasted a month or so in the small tank. But died after a week or two in the new/bigger setup.PLEASE WAIT.

38$ is a great price! a juvi in Ct can run around 80-90$. They do grow fast. I bought my Juvi about 6 month ago and he was the size of a quarter. Now he is about 4" and starting to chandge color. I belive your 125 would be ok for this fish but he may outgrow it when he is full size. Bigger is better and to go from a 125 to a 180 may not me that much more money in start up cost. If that store has one now for 38$ then they will certainly have more. be patient and wait till your new tank is all set up and running for a few months
