i have 3 common clown fishes in my tank and i got a long tentacle anemone today. Is there a good chance that one of the clown fish will host this type of anemone? what are my chances with this type of anemome?
are u sure u saw it with a long tentical anemone and a common clown fish and how long do u think it'll take for it to start hosting it? and is there a certain amount of time that says a clown fish will not host an anemone ever?
Do not make two different posts on the same question. Just pic one forum that fits the topic best to ask the questions.
Some clowns will host, some will not, some clowns take months, some take minutes. Hard to say with each clown and anemon.
They're not trying to be mean. They're just trying to politely tell you that the Anemone probably won't live long enough to become a host for your Clownfish.
I hope it flourishes for you. I've used pictures of Clownfish in an Anemone host taped to the tank. That has worked for me in the past.
Bang
bang guy, my biggest clown fish(the one i think might host the anemone) likes to stay in a corner of the tank and he swims up and down on that corner. If i move the anemone to that corner do u think my chances will be higher of it hosting it?
Yes, but it also reduces the chance of your Anemone surviving. It's a risk.
You could point a powerhead at the Anemone to get it to move on it's own.
My take is if the Anemone isn't crawling around right now then perhaps it has found a place it can live and it might be best just to leave it be.
can u post some pictures that worked for u and your clownfish. and how long does it take for anemones to move on there own. i haven't seen anything that looks like movement coming from the anemone, besides its tentacles?
Just let nature take its course. This is a hobby where you should let things happen naturally on their own, and not be so worry about forcing things to happen right away.
