Question about corals

thats what they say on the bottle b/c they want to sell their product, but you really shouldn't add anything without testing, just my opinion [its up to] :thinking:
btw they do tell you how much of it to add and how often, if it was completely safe and harmless, they coudlt say just dump the whole bottle and your setup will be better then ever. :notsure:

Im going to hold off on any suplements besides cal for a while, I have the trace elements stuff that should be good. My ph is the only thing I would like to change, I had it tested it low, which would be alcaline? I almost got some PH buffer today but I was unshure if it was for rasieing or lowering PH. the bottle would have be belive I need it no matter what lol, It was kent PH buffer. Ideas on what this dose?

pro buffer or super buffer? I believe the bottle reads... add 1 capfull per 40 gallon tank capacity every day until desiered alkalinity is reached.
So that would raise your PH.

I dont know about Iodine, what harm could become of adding some? I think kent gose to great pains to make things that are safe to use as dictated by the directions. Now whether its "must have" or not I cant say, Im sorta newbi

Welp, since i've been adding that stuff my star polyps/mushrooms have been going crazy.. but believe who you'd like to believe Kent is a very untrustworthy manufacturer right?

I agree with you, Im gona try it out after a while. Been spending too much on fish tanks this last month lol. I like kent I think they make the best stuff. :happy:

If bang were here he would argue to stop also. He has a big post about this and what he said was "STOP".
There is no need to add anything period! unless you can test for it. I would search for this thread before adding anything.

Well so far I havent added anything, I agree that testing for stuff first is a good idea. I plan to have my Iodine tested at lfs. But I think speg is proly right about it helping his corals out. Well thats not all true I put some trace elements in there the other day for the first time. I plan on that evey other week or so. Side note... Star polyps are doing Great! all open and happy looking so far !
