Question about ich

Is saltwater ich any different than freshwater ich? In my freshwater tank, my fish only get ich if the thermostat messes up for some reason and the temperature drops. In my saltwater tank, I notice ich spots on my fish quite often and the temperature in the tank has stayed the same.

They are completely different diseases. Freshwater ich can be present in a healthy aquarium. When fish are stressed, (for whatever reason) ich can develop.
Saltwater ich is caused by a specific parasite, cryptocaryons. It has to be introduced into a tank. Environmental stress has little to do with whether a fish gets infected. (However, stress will definitely affect how likely the fish will survive).

How is it introduced into a saltwater aquarium?
