Question about installing my DI unit with Pic

I just added the deionization filter and was wondering if the way I hooked it up is ok. I noticed once I run some water thru the deionization filter that I have to turn the regular drinking water faucet on then off to get the system started again. Is there a better way to do it. I would like to be able to keep one outlet for drinking water and one for aquarium water. Also I got a float shutoff switch and have no idea how to hook it up, I got directions with it but I still dont understand it, I don't know if I have to take out the auto shut-off that the ro unit came with or where to hook it up. Any insight or possibly a picture would be very helpful.

I know how the mechanical part of the float valve works, I just don't know which line to run to it.

Also it seems like the dion cartridge never fills up completely, Is it still filtering properly?

Tee off before your pressure tanks, so it goes through all the filters and then the membrane then through the DI then to the pressure tanks . you need to keep it on the incoming water side not after like you have it.

tropills thanks for the info, my only problem is I don't want to use the deionized water for drinking, and I do use the RO to fill up my drinking water bottles. Any ideas how I can use it for both drinking and aquarium water?

you can just shut the valve off that's going to the DI filter, so plumb it like I said ,and I see you already have the valve in line for the DI so when you want to make water for your tank just turn it on and fill your tubs. you will still have DI water in the tanks after you shut the DI valve off. but you can shut the main incoming water off and run the tanks out, then just turn the system back on. and refill with just RO water.
