Just tested for KH and im at 9.0. My calcium is finally where i wanted it to be at 420. Does my kh seem low? Its weird because last week after a water change my kh was 8.6 and calcium 410. I thought higher calcium resulted in lower kh. :notsure:

No, 9.0 dkh is fine actually. I used to maintain a higher level in my reef but I recently learned that if I go above 9.0 then the water becomes toxic to my macros and they all die off. Now I keep mine around 8.0. Also higher CA results in lower dkh only when you do NOT use balanced additives like b-ionic.

Thanks for the reply. Whats the best way to keep these two where they are? Id like to keep it stable right where it is.

By dripping kalkwasser. Your right on the mark, all you have to do now is test every once in a while to see how much your tank is using and if need be dose accordingly.
