My tank has a 10000k bulb (MH though) and 2, 03 blue PC bulbs. I would think that it would be better, but that K is your daylight bulb?

if u want to upgrade the wattage of the bulbs, be sure that the ballast can handle it, or it can overhead and cause fire! I would go with the same wattage of bulbs that were in there b4.. if u want a different color temp, thats different..

i checked the balast and it is rated for 65 watts. so i think i should stay with that wattage. what about the color of the bulbs? would it benefit the tank to change the color? i have a reef with soft corals only. :help: :help: :help:

Hi. I asked a similar question in another forum. I have an Orbit 4x65w on my 72g bowfront, and I want a little more blue tint. Someone suggested swapping out the "dual" compacts for 2 10k daylights, and 2 "true" actinic bulbs. This may be also what you are looking for. I know I will be taking the advice I was given and switching the bulbs in mine

And yes, stick with 65w power compact bulbs unless you want to burn tha place down lol. You could retro-fit a new ballast to accept the 96w bulbs, but until then, your limit is the 65'rs
