Question about Mag Drives

How often do i need to clean a mag drive pump? Its been running about a year and i havent done anything. Do i need to clean the impellers or anything? If so, how do i go about doing it?

I have always used Mag 9.5 now for about 5 years and I clean then about once a year. Most of the time they DONT need it.

Is there any signs when they need to be cleaned? Maybe its just me but it seems like the pump isnt pumping as hard as it used to. How do you clean yours?

That could be a sign that it needs cleaning and if cleaning dont help then replace the impellor or the whole pump. I just lift them out of the sump. dont even have to take the tubing loose. Mine has 6 small screws I take out to clean them. Very easy. Clean them with tank water and toothbrush.

Cool. Ill try and clean it. See if that improves flow. Thanks
