I am going to order some inverts and coral from here soon and I want to do the ''Buy $80 of merchandise and get free overnight shipping'' thing. I was wondering...Does that work if the $80 is the total of everything (including the gas fee, etc.) or the merchandise themselves?

Most sites charge almost double for shipping and when you add in the free item (even on your second order) I'ts more like $10.

Yes. Your livestock purchased must be $80. It won't let you order otherwise.
Yes, there is a "shipping" surcharge, but you are not actually being charged the actual cost for shipping.

All swf sites have to make a profit. Some charge a lot for their animals/products, then give you 'free shipping'. Others charge less for product and more for shipping. It is a competitive industry so in the long run you probably find little difference from one place to anothet in total dollar amount terms. I find this host site to be very reasonable, usually responsive to problems and willing to pass along an extra item or two that bthey may have
an oversupply of as a 'present' for multiple or large order(s).

Hahah... a $9.99 processing fee and a $10 gas surcharge fee...
Odd, other merchants that Fedex to my home aren't charging me a gas surcharge fee.
Processing fee : Understandable and disclosed.
Gas Surcharge Fee : Hidden till checkout and blamed on FedEX. Why not just offer $10 FedEx and $9.99 processing fee on the banner and be upfront about it.
Shopping cart abandoned
