Question about plecos

Someone had posted in the "lost posts" about keeping a pleco in saltwater. Anyone have any experience with that? Are they really brackish? Anyone acclimated them to full saltwater? Thanks.

Not sure what you mean Mr. Salty...of the fish species, or if they're brackish? I've kept plecos for years in my freshwater tanks, they're algae eating bottom fish that grow very large, and are quite beautiful. I would LOVE to hear they can be saltwater acclimated because they would be a killer solution for stopping film algae on the glass.

no... pl*coes do not do well with much of any salt in their tank...
when I set up my brackish tank, I was looking into them, but I found out they can barely tolerate the standard amount most people put in fw tanks.
so, no.
