Do not buy the seaclone.Although there are some people that have had some luck getting them to work,99% have had nothing but problems.I reccomend looking at the Prizm skimmer..It's small,It's inexpensive, and it DOES work...

Just remember that you get what you pay for. Red Sea makes goos skimmers. check into a berlin classic or the prism.

Like Mr Salty stated above some people have had good luck with the Seaclone and I am one of them.
The trick is to find the newer models. If your interested in buying one take it out of the box and look at the center riser tube. If it is about 3 to 4 inches then it is a newer model and will work great for a 30 gallon if the center riser extends almost to the top of the skimmer then it is an older model and probably best to put back on the shelf.

im with twoods71 on this one. ive had great results with my SeaClone. it is a newer modle with the mods. i also found when i put the PH directly on the bottom of the skimmer i get better results rather than using it as a hang on with the long tube. although, ive seen the prizm skimmers at work and they work great. my LFS put one on there LR tank and they were emptying it every day ( so they tell me )but when i saw it it was full and i was in a week before and they didnt even have it on there tank yet.

I would go with a berlin skimmer or the sea clone. I have the seaclone and love it. It is the new model. I also like the belrin.

im also very pleased with my sea clone. i think they have fixed most of the problems that plauged the older models.there are alot of posts on this board about the sea clone, most of them are bad experiences with the skimer. also alot of info about the prizm, most of it good.my 2 cents, go with the prizm its the safe choice!!.
