Question About Spots On Coral Beauty Angel

Hi,
Just looking for a little help here. We just purchased a Coral Beauty Angelfish from our local pet store yesterday. We let him acclimate, and then added him to the tank, as usual. There are plenty of hiding places for him (as suggested in many of the articles that I read online) and there are no fish in the tank that he is not "compatible" with. Everything went well last night, he was in the tank for approximately 5 hours before we turned the light off for the night. This morning my girlfriend woke up and called me to ask if we should be "concerned" about some white spots on the Coral Beauty Angel's nose, she said that is the only spot that she can really see them on the fish, because this part of the fish is dark in color (purplish) and the white dots seem to stand out well against this color. She said that he seems to be swimming fine, and none of the other fish in the tank show any sign of this. I immediately began researching this issue, and pretty much have it narrowed down to the possibility that it might be ich (ick). Just would like to have some questions answered if possible. Please take the following factors into consideration:
The tank has been established for approximately 7-8 months.
I do not have any pictures right now, I DO understand that this can make narrowing down what the problem is more difficult, and that is fine, anything you can offer is appreciated.
We do not currently have a quarantine tank, so moving him to another tank is not currently an option, however, would it be too late for me to go out and get a 10 gallon tank and set it up as a quarantine tank over the next several days so that I could stick him in there?
I have looked at other threads regarding ich (ick) and have read about the hyposaline and copper treatments, I know these are the two preferred methods, but I don't want to cause any other harm to any of the other fish. We do have live rock in our tank, but there are no inverts or reef, or corals.
1.) Could this possibly be anything other than ich (ick)?
2.) Could it be related to stress, he just left the fish store, and has been introduced to a new environment?
3.) How long should I wait to see if this progresses or gets better? What signs do we need to look for in either scenario (worse / better).
If you need anymore help, I can gladly provide it. I know off the top of my head that the tank is currently at 78.4 degrees F, and the salinity is approximately 1.022 or 1.023, not sure on the PH level.

I think at this point observation is called for. These could just be grains of sand stuck to his face from rooting around in a new environment. Keep a close watch for the next day or two.

Spanko,
Thank you for your quick reply. This honestly makes sense because he was eating things out of the sand / gravel last night, we noticed him doing that on several occassions. Your reply actually made me breath a brief sigh of relief. We will continue to monitor our Coral Beauty. Thank you!

Yeah, did you ever go fishing? Take a fish out of water and feel how slimy it is? Well there is a natural slime coat on fish and this may be what is grabbing some sand particles. Not saying for sure that is what it is but certainly a possibility in a new fish that has been netted at the fish store, thrown in a little plastic bang, transported, acclimated, then thrown into a new environment.

Just an update, I got a chance to look at the fish yesterday when I got home from work, and I'm 99% sure that Spanko's initial guess (sand from him digging around in a new environment) is exactly what it is / was. I didn't see anything on him when I first got home, and then I did notice a couple of small specs on his forehead later in the evening, and then just before I turned the light out I checked again, and those spots were gone. Glad to see that he's just busy exploring.

I thought my Coral Beauty had ich as well it was some micro bubbles or sand. Glad to hear yours is fine.
