Question about stocking a tank

I know from reading that the amount of fish you put in your tank depends on the size. What I am curious about is do you take into consideration the amount of tank cleaners you have snails, crabs etc.

no you should have a clean up crew that cleans up the algae and any left over food..
what size tank do you have? or what type of fish would you like?
when looking into fish you should look at, how big they will grow into when they are an adult, where they spend most of their time, are they open water swimmers(need big tanks) or not, compatibility with other fish, etc

in geneneral the CUC and corals do add to the bioload of the tank. but as fishgurl said you can overdo the CUC so you want to make sure you dont get such a large CUC that they eat everything and then start to dieoff.

marginal really since most corals only use the light for their main food source there is very little waste added to the tank. that doesnt mean that they dont add anything but its not a real countable amount.

Also think about how territorial the fish are. It isn't always about the size of the fish. Some fish tend to be messier than others as well. These are all thing to consider when stocking.

Thinking about adding some snails, crabs and cleaner shrimp to help control brown diatoms. It's not real bad just want to stay on top of it. Nitrates usually stay around 20 and everything else is 0 Salinity is 1.025. Tank has been running for about 5 months
