Question about why anenomes move to darker tank area.

So heres a question for the semi or expert anenome owners. I was told my anenome is bleached, but thats how he looked when I got him, only had him a month. Lights are on for 12 hrs, 2 hrs of just blues, then 8 hrs full power, then 2 hrs of blues at night. its a green BTA. I made sure he was on the highest rock under 8 54 watt T5 bulbs. He moved down 3 times lower and in a shaded spot, so I gave up. If it requires more light, and I have it but he insists on less, is it trying to commit suicide or what?

Bleached anemones tend to hide from high light until they can regain their zooxanthellae. Feed it 3-4 times weekly to help it recover.

Thanks! My clown feeds it flake every day, but I have been giving it meaty foods twice a week, does the flake count as feeding or should i feed it meaty foods more often?
