Does your coral beauty pick at your corals? I read that they probably will? I also want a gold striped maroon w/ one. Do yours get along well? Mine would be a 55 gallon. :)

No. The coral beauty is very docile and just kinda swims around and works on the LR. I also have an anemone (pink tipped) and he is great. He is the only anemone I've had any luck with. Had a Big Green Carpet who was doing fine till he decided to walk and then faded and died.

Does he eat the polyps on the rocks? Does he eat algae or plants on rocks? I may end up changing it to reef someday like my other one and want to start w/ keepers. I have about 80# of lr and 3" of sand. I want to put in my (tank raised) Bubble tip anenome, gold maroon, coral beauty, 2 purple firefish, yellow headed jawfish, fighting conch, nassirus snails, scarlet reef hermits, emerald crab, serpent star...........I'm open to suggestions. It's going to be a while, tank cycling now but getting ideas. Thanks for the info!

what about a black cap basslet, or an orchard dottyback? I know that the maroon can be agressive, so do I get more semi-agressive fish like these? or passive like cardinals? Any info appreciated! :D

I've got a black cap in with my maroon and they have no problem at all. The black cap, as a matter of fact is a little timid but when I just sit and watch, he comes out hovers in the water and follows my movements. A real personality. :p

My coral beauty has given me no problems. He is real prone to hang out right out front and seldom hides. I to was reluctant to get one do all I read. But am more than happy with my decsion to but one.
